Was Officially Formed January 15, 2002, by Natashka A. (Founder) based in Ontario Canada. Although, the idea for a new club for true female automotive enthusiasts was conceived shortly after the closure of TGR (TorontoGurlRacers.com). Later, a joint partnership was formed with Sarah G. (Co-Founder), who had similar ideas for the formation of a new club in Canada, by which we decided to merge our ideas into a combined effort, and SDR.com was born! |

Muscles Cars and Imports Alike! |

For me it all started from a very young age. Cars are in my family, I grew up around fancy/exotic cars, in particular, Porsches and BMWs. As a kid I use to watch my dad and assist him when he was working on engines. From the '86 Camero Z28 to my first car an '88 Grand Prix GTP I've always taken an interest in fixing up my car and making it look good!
For the Grand Prix modifications started fairly cosmetic; Wheels, Spoiler, Fog lights.. back then buying
any after market part was very hard to
find!! I always believed that American muscle cars were the only way to go! (or German
if you have the money) Until I started to have experience driving other cars, like a Toyota Corolla and later a
Camry. Soon after I drove my first Honda, a '92 Civic Si. It was then that I realized, "Hey Honda's
aren't so bad!" This car was fun to drive! And so now my views on American vs. Imports has changed
dramatically, no more biased views! At the end of the winter in 2000 my Grand Prix's engine block developed a hair line fracture,
causing the engine to lose compression. I took it to a mechanic to see what could be done,
but unfortunately the cost to fix it was too high! So I sold the Grand prix to a mechanic,
since it wouldn't cost anything for him to fix.. and an added bonus, the body had 'not a spot
of rust!' |
